Overview & When to Use
This report answers the question: How are participants distributed across engagement levels, as measured by cumulative hours attended, within each institution (grantee, district)?
Typical audience: State and district administrators as well as others reviewing participation depth and dosage.
This report is most useful when:
- Monitoring whether participants are reaching meaningful hour thresholds (e.g., 15+ hours, 45+ hours) associated with program impact.
- Identifying institutions where a large share of participants have zero or very few hours, signaling potential attendance or enrollment issues.
- Comparing engagement depth across institutions within a state program; running this report when connected to State or System level access makes this possible.
How to Read the Report (What to Look At First)
- Start with the Institution column to identify which organization or program site each row represents.
- Review the Attended column to understand the total number of participants enrolled or tracked at each institution.
- Scan across the hour band columns (0 Hours through 270+ Hours) to see how participants are distributed across engagement levels — lower bands indicate minimal participation, higher bands indicate sustained engagement.
- Pay particular attention to the “Less Than 15 Hours” and “0 Hours” columns, as high counts there may indicate participants who enrolled but did not meaningfully engage.
- Use the “15+ Hours” column as a quick summary metric for participants who have crossed a commonly used minimum dosage threshold.

Statuses, Colors, and Alerts
- No color coding, status flags, or alert indicators are used in this report.
Notes, Limitations, and Related Reports
- Hour band boundaries are fixed: The bands (0, <15, 15–44, 45–89, 90–179, 180–269, 270+) are predefined and cannot be customized within the report view.
- The “15+ Hours” column is a derived summary and overlaps with the individual band columns to its left — it should not be added to those columns.
- Cumulative hours reflect total hours recorded across all sessions for a participant; the report does not distinguish between hours in different activity types or time periods.
Report Filters (How to Slice the Data)
The Institution column header includes a sort control indicated by the dropdown arrow visible in the header row, allowing users to sort the report by institution.
The hour band columns (0 Hours, Less Than 15 Hours, 15–44 Hours, 45–89 Hours, 90–179 Hours, 180–269 Hours, 270+ Hours, and 15+ Hours) also support sorting, enabling users to rank sites or grade levels by participation volume within any given band.
To apply filters (not available for all reports), use the filter icon available at the top right of the report header. The filter options shown in this report are the same for all users.
